An Integrated Health Service Plan for Central LHIN 2010-2013

Central LHIN is pleased to announce the release of our Integrated Health Service Plan 2010-2013, Creating Caring Communities, Healthier People...Together!ISHP 2010-2013 Cover

This strategic plan outlines four key planning priorities that will be the focus of Central LHIN's activities and investments in the local health system over the next three years. These include:

  • Emergency department wait times and the time people spend in hospital beds waiting for alternate levels of care,
  • Chronic disease management and prevention,
  • Mental health and addictions, and
  • Health equity.

Getting Ready for a New IHSP

Our work to identify our IHSP 2010-2013 priorities has been guided by a Steering Committee of representatives from our hospitals, community-based care providers, clinicians, primary care providers and the community care access centre, which helped develop the plan and then bring it to the Central LHIN Board of Directors for approval. View our  IHSP 2010-2103 High-Level Timelines.

IHSP 2010-2013 builds on the learnings, successes and achievements of our IHSP 2007-2010, and on our 2008 Health Service Needs Assessment and Gap Analysis, project, which helped us assess and identify our LHIN’s long-term health service needs.

Our IHSP 2010-2013 is linked directly to our Health Integration Outcome Map, and will also align with the priorities of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.

Hundreds of health care professionals, and members of the community assisted in the development of our new IHSP. In addition to engaging with stakeholders on IHSP 2010-2013 through our networks, advisory groups, and regular meetings – including our Health Professionals Advisory Committee, our board-to-board Governance Councils and our public Board Meetings – three Citizens Reference Panels were been held to obtain community feedback.
