ONETM Mail: Secure Email Solution

The ability to communicate confidential client health information between service providers is a pre-condition for making the health system experience seamless for consumers. Because of this, the Central LHIN Board has made implementation of secure email a top priority.
(Diane Salois-Swallow, Central LHIN e-Health Lead)

In partnership with eHealth Ontario, Central LHIN encourages health service providers in the LHIN to implement the ONE Mail secure email solution.  ONE Mail lets healthcare professionals send patient information quickly, confidentially and securely between registered users.

Benefits of ONE Mail include:

  • Email transmitted across a managed private network enables participating users to exchange personal health information.
  • Features built-in anti-virus and anti-spam filters.
  • Email communications are automatically encrypted.
  • Reliable and consistent service.
  • eHealth Ontario provides policies and processes to ensure only authorized people can access ONE Mail.
  • Every contact appearing in the ONE Mail directory has been securely registered, giving users the assurance that contacts are who they say they are.
  • Training documentation is provided to guide end users in the secure use of ONE Mail.
