Join our Patient and Family Advisory Committee
Are you passionate about improving health care in the Central region? If so, we want to hear from you.
Building on the important work of its Citizens’ Health Advisory Panel over the past four years, the Central Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) is seeking patients, families and caregivers to participate in its new Patient and Family Advisory Committee (PFAC), as articulated in the Patients First Act, 2016.
Central LHIN PFAC members will meet four times annually to share their unique stories, experiences and advice to strengthen health system engagement and include the perspective of patients and caregivers in local health care planning.
"Patients are at the heart of our health care system. We need the input of patients and their families to ensure we are making informed decisions to best meet the needs of local residents," said Kim Baker, Chief Executive Officer of the Central LHIN.
The Committee will consist of 10-15 members from across the Central LHIN's highly diverse communities in South Simcoe, York Region, and the North York areas.
Applications are encouraged from patients, family members and caregivers who have had varied personal experiences within the health care system in the Central LHIN. The ideal candidate will have an interest in improving access to care and service delivery and actively coordinate solutions-oriented outcomes. Interested persons are requested to complete and submit an Expression of Interest by Thursday, August 31, 2017.
