At the end of February, the government announced its plan to strengthen the health care system and introduced Bill 74, The People’s Health Care Act, 2019. The proposed Bill would support the establishment of local Ontario Health Teams that connect care providers and services around patients and families, and integrate multiple existing provincial agencies into a single Health Agency - Ontario Health.
At the core of the government’s plan is the creation of Ontario Health Teams to manage the delivery of frontline care. The vision for these local health teams is to guide patients between providers and help patients and families navigate seamlessly through transitions. Each will be made up of local health care providers – including primary care and hospitals, home care and long-term care, mental health and addictions supports – organized to work as a coordinated group.
Below you will find resources and information to assist those who are interested in preparing an Expression of Interest for the Ontario Health Teams.
